All events, regardless of their size, have positive and negative impacts on the three main axes: economic, environmental and social. In addition to reinforcing the positive impacts, it is essential to identify and recognize the negative impacts of an event, in order to be able to manage them in the best way and promote their minimization or elimination.
With the future intention of reducing the impact associated with the realization of the main world surfing circuits, and of promoting a more sustainable management of the event, Ambiosfera developed, in partnership with the World Surf League (WSL) and Ocean Events, a survey and calculation of the main impacts associated with these events, identifying opportunities for improvement.
